Congratulations to Albie and Fred who have been selected in the England Golf Boy’s County Qualifying event, more commonly referred to as The Six-Man. This is the pinnacle event for Junior County Golf and, this year, is hosted by Suffolk at Rookery Park GC. The 11 counties that make up England Golf's South Eastern Group (SEG) each select their best six under-18 players to play a 36-hole medal. Selection for this Under-18 event is a great achievement for our Sherfield golfers who are members of the Under-16 Team.
Hampshire Golf age groups from U12 to U18 train and compete to prepare a team to compete in the Six-Man tournament. Both Albie and Fred have been a part of the county set-up from a very young age and their selection demonstrates how they have consistently excelled in their own and older age groups through the years.
This recognition is as a result of their performance representing Hampshire County, individually in regional events and for Sherfield School in events such as the AOC Inter-Collegiate and HG Cup. It is also another positive reflection of the Sherfield Golf Programme which enables the boys to practice and hone their skills in a competitive and structured environment, all leading to excellence on the course.
