SCIENCE NEWSSherfield Science: Student Ambassadors Teach Local Primary Schools.
The Sherfield Science Ambassadors were joined by pupils from the Priory Primary School, Wellesley Prep and Mortimer St Mary's School, as they took part in an engaging and educational series of science experiments designed to spark curiosity and develop key scientific skills. Throughout the session, the primary school pupils explored a range of hands-on activities that encouraged them to observe, predict, test, and discuss their findings.
The experiments (planned, led, and delivered by our Sherfield Science Ambassadors) covered a variety of topics, including simple chemical reactions, physical properties of matter, biological dissections, igniting volatile chemicals, and many other investigations, most involving some type of mess!
In addition to developing scientific knowledge, the primary school pupils demonstrated excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills as they worked together in small groups. They showed great enthusiasm and responsibility when using equipment and following safety instructions.
The session was thoroughly enjoyed by all involved and provided a valuable opportunity for primary school pupils to learn through practical experience, and for our Science Ambassadors to hone their leadership skills and share in their scientific knowledge and understanding.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Sherfield Science Ambassadors, who helped organise and lead the sessions, making them both enjoyable and informative for the younger pupils. Moreover, the maturity, dedication, and confidence displayed by Sherfield students was superb; I couldn’t have wished for a better group of scientifically minded students to work with.
