Sherfield School joins Education in Motion family

In an important and exciting move for the future of our school, we are delighted to announce that Education in Motion (EiM) has taken on ownership of Sherfield School.

EiM is a family of schools with a clear purpose; to empower pupils with the knowledge, skills, and motivation to make a positive difference for people, society, and the planet. EiM has a global presence around the world with over 11,000 pupils.

Fraser White, Founder, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer at EiM, commented: “As EiM’s first school in the UK, this marks a milestone for us and reflects our commitment and ambition in continuing to expand our global presence with mission-aligned schools. Our dedication to delivering exceptional educational experiences continues to be our guiding principle, and we look forward to welcoming Sherfield into our growing and dynamic network of schools.”

EiM’s Chief Education Officer, Lesley Meyer, has been appointed Chair of the Sherfield Governing Body.

Lesley noted, “In Sherfield’s commitment to be an outstanding, all-round academic, active, and creative school, we recognised a school with a mission aligned with EiM. Sherfield's school motto, ad vitam paramus, is a natural fit with EiM’s vision to inspire generations of learners to Live Worldwise. We are excited to work with Sherfield and its community, and to build on the school's many strengths."

We are also pleased to announce that Neil Richards has been appointed Head of School (Interim). Neil is a highly experienced school leader and educator, having held headships at United World College of the Atlantic in Wales, as well as in in Japan, Africa and most recently, at the British International School Phuket in Thailand. Neil was awarded an MBE for services to British Education in Japan. He has considerable experience in managing change and will manage the transition in school leadership as we undertake the search for a permanent Head.

"It is with immense pleasure and enthusiasm that I extend a warm welcome to each and every one of you. I am Neil Richards, and it is an honour to serve as the Interim Head of School as we embark on an exciting new chapter in the history of Sherfield. Sherfield School has long been a place of educational excellence, fostering a nurturing environment where students can grow academically, socially, and personally. It is our commitment to continue this legacy while embracing change and innovation.

As an interim leader, I am committed to maintaining the values that Sherfield School holds dear. However, I also recognise the importance of listening to our community and evolving in response to your needs and aspirations. Your input and feedback are invaluable to us, and we are dedicated to fostering a culture of open communication. At Sherfield, we believe that education is a partnership between school, students, parents, and the wider community. Together, we can create an environment where our students thrive and develop into well-rounded, compassionate, and resilient individuals. Together, we will continue to make Sherfield School a place where dreams are nurtured, talents are discovered, and futures are shaped." - Neil Richards, Head of School (Interim)
