The Music Department held their annual vocal concert on Wednesday evening, prepared and hosted by singing teacher Gail Mortley. The evening was very well attended and the audience enjoyed performances from pupils as young as Year 4, all the way up to some of our most experienced singers at GCSE level and into the sixth form.
Standout items included a powerful rendition of ‘Almost Nearly Perfect’ by Ben H, moving and emotive solos from Bonnie and Sasha, and a rousing finish from the Sherfield Singers, who performed ‘(Something Inside) So Strong’ in 3-part harmony.
The main joy of the evening was seeing the mixture of singers from across the school, and creating an atmosphere where beginners felt comfortable singing alongside the more experienced, and truly seeing where hard work and practice can lead to! Thanks also to Alexandra Cassidy for preparing her pupils so well. Thank you to all those who attended.
