Sherfield’s outstanding Senior School teachers are committed to preparing children for exams, employment and entrance into the world’s best universities and courses.

Students are regularly and rigorously assessed in exam conditions to help them succeed in public examinations. In the Senior School, children continue to develop into independent and responsible adults.  

In Year 8 pupils are given guidance to help them make informed choices about their options as they progress towards GCSE's in Year 9 and in Years 12 and 13 they receive specialist support with their applications to higher education and training.

We offer three year GCSE courses and flexible blocks with no compulsory options. On top of maths, english literature and language and triple science, students typically take four options of their choice. As well as the standard humanities, arts, drama, technology, P.E. and languages options we can also offer more unusual GCSEs such as Psychology, Classic Civilisation, Media Studies, Economics and Astronomy. Some more able students choose to take one or two GCSE exams in Year 10. For more information click on the buttons below:
