The Music Department were delighted to host their Summer concert on Wednesday 22 June 2022.
On what was a very warm and pleasant evening, students from across the school brought out their best musical numbers and gave some truly memorable performances.
It was a pleasure as always to open with our school Orchestra, performing Pirates of the Caribbean followed by Sherfield Symphony, a brand new piece composed by our own Claire Eldridge! We heard more wonderful ensemble performances from Chamber Choir, Sherbets, and Sherfield Singers, who finished the evening with an uplifting rendition of ‘High’. There were some excellent musical theatre inspired duets, including Ben H & Violet S and Christa & Lucy G singing from Dear Evan Hansen and Phantom of the Opera respectively. The audience were wowed by the technical prowess of Joshua C on violin (accompanied by William L) and Vlad on the piano. Ruby Sand Ashmik demonstrated their considerable vocal power with wonderful solo performances of ‘The Winner Takes It All’ and ‘Bird Set Free’.
Although there were too many individual performances to name, the evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Thank you to all of our fantastic music teachers for their hard work preparing students and leading ensembles. Look out for a highlights video in the near future!
