The Music & Art Departments were very pleased to welcome an audience of parents and students into the courtyard studio on the last day of the Spring Term to enjoy a presentation of Year 8 project work, over canapes and mocktails!
Their project based learning, entitled ‘Score This!’ was displayed as artwork hung around the studio. The animated versions of their art and music were then projected onto a big screen for full effect. Students had worked in groups of four to create both the abstract art and music based on a stimulus of either Boogie Woogie jazz or the orchestral intensity of ‘Mars: Bringer of War’ by Holst.
Many thanks to Miss Gillen for her creative mocktail making, and Miss Barnikel and her team of cookery students from Years 7 to 11 who made the delicious canapes, both of which created a brilliant and rather special art gallery-esque atmosphere!
