At Sherfield, we are committed to meeting the needs of able, gifted and talented pupils and pupils with particular learning difficulties.

We support pupils with:

  • Differentiation by class teachers based on Support Plans

  • Stretch and Learn Programme – a special movement programme to develop balance, co-ordination and sensory systems

  • Listening Programme to develop auditory processing

  • Jungle Memory

  • Accelerated Reader

  • Computer programs

  • Specific classroom support by assistants in core subjects

  • Challenge days for more able, gifted, and talented pupils

  • 1:1 or small group sessions for specific learning difficulties (extra charge – see our Reasonable Adjustments policy)

Our Assessment Team is responsible for assessment, recording and reporting and our school tracking system monitors each child’s progress. We also have value added assessments from the University of Durham.

Parents receive regular reports on their child's progress and can also discuss progress at our frequent parent consultations.
