GEMS Sherfield goes from strength to strength...
92% of pupils achieve five or more GCSE grades at C grade or better – record number of ‘A’ grades
Pupils at GEMS Sherfield Independent School lived up to one of the school’s core values of Forward Thinking today. With the support of dedicated staff and parents, pupils had been fully prepared for this year’s GCSE examinations.
At 9am on Tuesday 24th August, the pupils arrived to receive their long awaited results and were thrilled with their success.
Professor Pat Preedy (Executive Principal) stated: “Congratulations to our pupils who are a credit to GEMS Sherfield. This is a GCSE record for Sherfield, with 92% of pupils gaining five or more GCSE subjects at C grade or better.”
Olwen Wright (Head of Seniors/Deputy Principal) praised the excellent overall results and some individual successes that deserve a special mention - 7 A* grades for William J and straight A* / A grades achieved by Robert M who also achieved an A grade in Additional Mathematics at AS level.
Many year 10 pupils who had been entered for their English Language and Literature a year early were at the school to be informed that they had all been successful with a 100% A*-C pass rate for the early entrants.
