Internet Safety

GEMS Sherfield takes e-safety for pupils very seriously. ICT is used daily as a tool to improve teaching and learning and is recognised as being of significant benefit to us all. However, alongside these benefits are potential risks. It is essential that young people learn how to behave responsibly online both at home and at school.

We use firewalls and web monitoring/filtering software to restrict the amount of inappropriate material that pupils have access to; most households do not have any of these measures in place. E-safety is about educating the pupils so that they act appropriately when confronted with inappropriate content or potentially dangerous situations.
