The Assessment Team is responsible for ensuring that there is a consistent framework for marking, recording, tracking and target setting.
A variety of tests including value added tests from the University of Durham are used to track progress from Baby GEMS to the sixth form. Teacher assessments and test results are entered into our 'Sherfield Assessment for Learning' system so that the assessment team can track the progress of individuals and groups of pupils across all of the subjects.

At Sherfield we are aiming to fulfil two aims with our GCSE and Sixth Form options. Firstly we offer breadth in the curriculum so that all pupils are brought into contact with a range of areas of learning, and secondly, we offer balance so that there is adequate development of each area of learning.
