Registration fees On registering your child we ask that you please pay a £100 non-refundable registration fee. This is for administration and does not secure a place for your child. An offer of a place for your child at the school is accepted by your completion of the acceptance form and payment of a deposit of £400. The deposit will be returned on your child leaving, minus any other sums due to the school. For registration fees, please enclose a cheque made payable to Sherfield School Limited with the Form of Acceptance.
Tuition Fees GEMS reserves the right to adjust the level of fee. Please see individual schools for details.
Please note, these fees do not include school fee insurance, the wrap around service, meals, individual tuition e.g. music or enrichment, public examination fees or use of school transport. School Fees do include compusory insurance cover for Personal Accident (including dental) and Travel.
Special Terms for Little Gems and Pre Reception pupils attending on a 48 week basis. All Sherfield pupils in Little Gems and Pre Reception are entitled to register with us for special terms covering 48 weeks per year. A flat rate of £2,050 (full time – 08:30am to 3:30am) is added to the normal fees applicable to the academic year. This will enable the child to extend their attendance to 48 weeks per year, ensuring that they are cared for in a learning environment that combines education and childcare. Please note that this service includes the provision of lunch and snacks. (the effective cost of this service is £34.17 per day). This special rate is not available to those parents who book for occasional ad-hoc days or weeks.
Breakfast - Reception to Year 13 A nourishing meal is important for a good start to the day. Breakfast Club is open during term time from 7.30 – 8.30am, allowing busy parents to go to work knowing that their children are enjoying a relaxed breakfast in the company of their friends. This service costs £3 per day, but must be booked in advance – please note that breakfast is served up until 8:00am, the rest of the period being made up of the care element.
Snack and Lunch Sherfield supports a healthy eating policy. Pupils are required to eat the meals and snacks provided by the school. These are included in the fees and includes a drink and piece of fruit at break time. Special diets can be catered for. In exceptional circumstances e.g. medical reasons, the School Nurse may grant permission for a pupil to bring food or drink into school. Methods of Payment Invoices are issued on a termly basis and for your convenience we operate a direct debit payment policy. This operates on a monthly basis and the fees for each term are collected over a regular period. Supplemental charges will be invoiced at convenient intervals and collected by direct debit in accordance with the invoice terms. Please note that for those parents deciding not to operate within the direct debit system that Invoices are to be settled, in full, either prior to or on the first day of the relevant term.
Early Years Grants and Childcare Vouchers Please note that government schemes offering a certain amount of free entitlement to children aged 3 and 4 are operated at Sherfield, via Hampshire County Council. Some employers are now offering their employees the opportunity to draw part of their salary in the form of Childcare Vouchers, which are exempt of both tax and National Insurance. Sherfield is happy to accept these vouchers, but parents will need to discuss the arrangements with the school in advance.
Late or Non Payment of Fees Please let us know as soon as possible if you are experiencing difficulties so that we are able to help. If we have not heard from you in advance and agreed alternative arrangements in writing, the following terms will apply:
late or rejected payments will incur a £25 administration fee;
a further 2% collection fee will be incurred if the outstanding fees are not settled within 7 days;
remaining overdue balances will incur interest at the rate of 1.5% monthly until settled.
