Sherfield School offers prospective students the chance at entry with a scholarship.

Sherfield School’s scholarships give talented children the chance to benefit from Sherfield’s outstanding academic, sports and arts learning environment.

We have scholarships for those who demonstrate academic ability, or creative, performing or sporting talent.

Award levels

Awards depend on scholarship assessment results.

All scholarships may be transferred to the Senior School once awarded.

Academic awards

Candidates sit exams in Mathematics, English and Science.

No special preparation is required. Emphasis is on applying knowledge and skills.

Pupils who have studied the National Curriculum, the Common Entrance syllabus or equivalent will be able to address the questions. We do not provide specimen papers.

Creative and sporting awards

Candidates may present a portfolio of their creative or sporting endeavours.

Portfolios may include a CV of sporting achievement.

Candidates may present a singing, musical, dance dramatic or sporting performance for assessment.

They can present certificates from exams or grades already achieved to support an application.

Partnerships programme

Sherfield school has a popular partnerships programme which allows talented students to combine academic and sports or arts study. If your child excels in an area of sport, they may benefit from these excellent relationships and applying for a Sherfield Scholarship may help them go from strength to strength.

How to apply

All applicants must complete registration, a taster day during term time and the school standard entry tests as part of their application.

All scholarship students must show continued commitment to their academic studies, act in an ambassadorial role for Sherfield and maintain an excellent standard of behaviour.

Sherfield School offers prospective students the chance at entry with a scholarship.

We hold assessment days during the year. Candidates sit a standard Mathematics and English paper with an assessment in one or more of their chosen scholarship subjects.

Options include any academic subject, art, music, performing arts and sport.

Successful candidates are awarded a merit based scholarship. This gives a discount on term fees and is discretionary.
