As part of the GEMS organisation, we enjoy the benefits of being part of one of the world’s leading education providers whilst retaining the ambience of an English country public school, albeit within an hour of London; pupils here have the best of all worlds! Sherfield has seen significant investment in recent months with major developments to come in 2017 and beyond.

Sherfield can provide an excellent foundation on which to build a career within the group and there may be the possibility of promotion to other posts worldwide.

We are looking to appoint graduates with a good degree in the subject they wish to teach. We recruit from a wide variety of sectors, including post-doctoral research, universities and industry and commerce.

Above all, we look for teachers who are passionate and knowledgeable about their subject and who delight in enthusing young people about learning.

For teaching staff, we offer:

  • a competitive salary scale

  • the possibility of single accommodation at a subsidised rate on limited tenure

  • a reduced timetable in the first year and extensive professional development opportunities, which can include gaining a PGCE whilst working with us

  • There is the opportunity of subsidised education at the school for the children of staff (subject to the usual entry requirements).
